What is Coenzyme Q10?
Coenzyme Q10 is a substance that is normally made by your body. It’s used in every cell to produce energy and to help keep you in good health. The problem is that as we age, we produce less of it and there are many conditions and activities that deplete Coenzyme Q10 in the cells and muscle tissue.
Coenzyme Q10, also known as CoQ10, ubiquinone, ubiquinol, and ubidecarenone, is an energy coenzyme that is fat soluble.
What are the health benefits of CoQ10 Plus?
CoQ10 has two main roles; it is necessary for the production of energy, and also acts as an antioxidant. Taking an oral CoQ10 supplement has been shown to increase levels in blood and blood vessels, and support antioxidant function, energy production and a healthy cardiovascular system. In combination Coenzyme Q10 and Omega oils can improve heart muscle function and have an anti-inflammatory effect, lower blood pressure and thin the blood.
Deep Blue Health CoQ10 Plus is a high strength blend of Coenzyme Q10 (150mg), Omega oils, Vitamin E and other natural ingredients which provide high dose essential fatty acids. Ubidecarenone (Coenzyme Q10) is fat soluble coenzyme which is more easily absorbed when combined with Omega oils. These high quality ingredients deliver the nutrients required by the body to naturally support cell function, reduce inflammation, repair cellular damage and improve energy production.
How often should I take CoQ10 Plus?
Take one capsule daily with a main meal or as professionally advised.
We recommend taking CoQ10 Plus with food, preferably immediately before a meal.
Are there any Contraindications?
If pregnant, breastfeeding or on prescription medication (especially statins and blood thinning medications such as Warfarin) should check with your doctor first.
Not suitable for children.
What are the Warnings / Precautions?
Deep Blue Health CoQ10 Plus contains fish oil and Co-enzyme Q10:
Omega oils can increase the effectiveness of antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants and Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), and should only be taken in combination under medical supervision.
Ubidecarenone (Coenzyme Q10) is an antioxidant and acts in the mitochondria of the cell to improve respiration.
Are there any drug interactions?
Deep Blue Health CoQ10 Plus is a natural food supplement; you should not exceed the recommended daily dose unless otherwise advised by your healthcare professional.
Significant interactions may occur with the use of antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs), and pravastatin. A healthcare professional should be consulted before taking this supplement in combination with any prescription drug.
Beneficial interaction with Eye drops (especially Timolol), Coenzyme Q10 reduces the vascular side-effects of eye drops without affecting eye pressure.
Are there any adverse reaction/ side-effects?
Deep Blue Health CoQ10 Plus contains Ubidecarenone (Coenzyme Q10) which is relatively safe and non-toxic and is generally well tolerated. Dizziness, nausea, epigastric discomfort, anorexia, diarrhoea, photophobia, irritability and skin rash occur in less than 1% of patients.
As with any food product, some people may experience allergic reactions. If you experience adverse reactions while taking CoQ10 Plus, you should stop taking the supplement and consult a healthcare professional.

What are the capsules made of?
Deep Blue Health capsules are all high quality capsules made from natural products. We use two types of capsule; soft and hard gel.
The soft gel capsules are filled with liquids and are made from animal-based, NZFSA approved gelatine. The gelatine is of the highest quality and is vital to the encapsulation stage.
The hard gel capsules are used for powdered products and may be one of three types; Vegicaps, Oceancaps and gelatine caps. Deep Blue Health provides all three variations because we recognise the benefits of the new product option being developed.
What is encapsulating material and why is it used?
Encapsulating material is a naturally inert material used to keep powders free-flowing to ensure the active ingredients remain evenly dispersed throughout the product. Inert means it does not react with the other ingredients and is not absorbed by the body.
What does extract equivalent mean?
Extract equivalent is the ratio of raw to dried product, for example a 10:1 ratio means that 10g of raw product was used to produce 1g of product.
How should I store health supplements?
Store health supplements in a cool dry place below 30oC, away from direct sunlight. Do not throw away the moisture absorbing sachet until the bottle is empty.
For how long should I keep health supplements?
Please refer to the expiry date on the side of the label.

What should I do if I notice my supplements have a strong odour?
Deep Blue Health supplements are concentrated forms of natural foods and as such may have a noticeable smell. The smell is a result of the high potency of the active substances in the product.

Should I take these supplements while I am pregnant?
